OUR GOAL: END ALLGYNECOLOGIC CANCER

Each year more than 80,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with a GYN cancer. These cancers, which start in a
woman’s reproductive tract, have symptoms that can resemble other illnesses -- bloating, pelvic pain, bleeding, and feeling full
quickly -- can all be symptoms diagnosed under the guise of gastrointestinal, menopause, stress or other familiar problems.

Northside Hospital leads the Southeast in diagnosing and treating more cases of GYN cancers -- endometrial, ovarian and cervical -- than any other hospital in Georgia. A proven leader in women's health, Northside has been voted Most Preferred
for Women's GYN Services by the National Research Corporation Healthcare Market Guide for more than a decade.

These diagnoses, when wrong, take away precious moments for a patient to get treatment; and time is especially important for
patients with gynecologic cancers.  Northside's team of gynecologic oncologists, surgeons and specialty-trained oncology nurses
provide patients with the highest level of expertise to diagnose, evaluate and treat GYN cancers. In 2006, Northside introduced
robotic hysterectomy for oncology patients using the daVinci Robotic System. With the skill of our surgeons and surgical team
Northside ranks in the top 5% in the world for GYN robotic procedures. Combining laparoscopic with robotic technology, this system
allows our surgeons to perform more precise, less invasive procedures. As a result, our patients experience reduced post-operative
pain and shorter recovery times.

State-of-the-art Facilities:  Northside has a dedicated an inpatient cancer unit specifically for women diagnosed with
gynecologic
cancer and was renovated recently in 2011. Nurses and staff are specially trained in gynecologic cancer,
chemotherapy and
symptom management to provide resources, care and overall support.

Innovative Treatments:  Northside leads the way in groundbreaking procedures. GYN cancer patients benefit from
Northside's
expertise and state-of-the-art technology for the shortest, most optimal recovery available. Northside ranks
in the top five percent of hospitals in the United States using robotic procedures to treat women with GYN cancer.
In addition, Northside offers hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemoperfusion (HIPEC), a procedure in which heated
chemotherapy is administered into the patient's abdominal
cavity during surgery to penetrate diseased tissue.
Combining HIPEC and minimally invasive robotic surgery, Northside performed
the first reported robotic HIPEC
surgery for ovarian cancer in 2011.

Nurse Navigators:  GYN Nurse Navigators are registered nurses with specialized training in gynecologic oncology.
Nurse navigators accompany patients through diagnosis, treatment and recovery, helping patients navigate the healthcare
system. Gynecological
cancers have an extremely high rate of recurrence, making the education and support of a trained
nurse navigator, even more crucial.

Leading-edge Research:  As part of our commitment to providing the latest treatment available, we participate in clinical
trials,
including an international trial for radioimmunotherapy, an innovative treatment for ovarian cancer. In addition,
Northside has
increased clinical trials available to patients through membership in Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG),
an NCI-research
consortium, through Georgia Clinical Research & Education (GA CORE). For a complete list of open
clinical trials, visit the Clinical
Trials section under our Medical Services offerings.

Hereditary Counseling: Certain types of gynecologic cancers, such as ovarian, may have a genetic link. Northside Hospital
offers
a free evaluation of your risk of hereditary cancer. Our specially trained hereditary counselors will meet with individuals
to review
family history, provide education and counseling.
