ESSENTIAL PROGRAMS: EMCEE

You're in charge of hiring a good event emcee. Think of the emcee your conductor or master of ceremonies. S/he introduces people and helps move along elements in the show.

The emcee should be entertaining--a person with a lot of personality, but one who fits your market. Hence, this is usually a personality in the community, such as a news anchor. (Portland used a drag queen which was hilarious, but would not work for all audiences.)

Sometimes your emcee will also serve as your auctioneer, so coordinate with the Live Auction Committee on this one.
